Might just be the pics, but they look a little monotone. Maybe give them a coat of wash. What chapter are they, btw?

I'd go with Badab Black, since the predominant colors are Black and Grey. Maybe just a touch of Gryphonne Sepia would look good on the Predator's lights too.

Cool. There's a wash called Baal Red that might work nicely on those shoulder pads too.

My Marines Empty wash

Post by Admin-Tom Thu Jul 23, 2009 5:03 pm

I picked up baal red today at the bunker and tried it out. I did 2 coats of wash on each marines mechrite shoulder pad. It doesn't make a ton of difference to me other then it being a bit darker I'm going to add 1 more heavy coat tonight and do a coat of Badab Black on all the Black and I'm not sure if I should on the gray so suggestions are welcome. I also did 1 coat of Gryphonne Sepia on the Predator head lights and It came out good although I forgot to take pictures of the tank.

When you're applying the wash, concentrate on the edges between the shoulder pad and the grey trim. That's where you want it to be a bit darker, so that's where you want the most wash. Just make sure you don't put so much that it spills out onto the grey! Speaking of grey, a watered-down wash of Badab Black wouldn't hurt it.
